It has all the items from gens 1-8 and some custom items to facilitate the team you want to make. If ya wanna heal, it'll cost ya money (except for your first use of the healing NPC, which is free).
You don't have free access to healing or your PC, so you're rocking with 6 mons (you can replace them when you catch a 7th if you want). In those routes you'll find a selection of 1-6 random Pokemon and trainers you can fight to get money. The gimmick is that once you select your starter and start your type of run (Single/Double and other fun weird ones), you get thrown into a randomized "map" featuring randomized routes with randomized encounters.
Essentially, you start off in a hub area with different features you can utilize such as an unlockable Safari Zone featuring previously caught Pokemon, an NPC who gives rewards for quests you complete while on your run, etc. Emerald Rogue is a romhack of Pokemon Emerald that dilutes the game down to what is essentially pure mechanics.
